In late April we will begin our “One Book, One School” project.  Students will read the book Just Mercy (Adapted for Young Adult Readers) by Brian Stevenson and complete activities related to it in all classes.  The goals of the project are to strengthen our school community through a shared literacy experience and demonstrate to students that literacy spans all content areas.  Our teachers are already hard at work planning lessons and circle activities related to the book.

All students will be given a copy of the book to read and to keep thanks to the Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant the High School received.  Additionally, we have been given permission to purchase copies of the book for all families to read along with their students with funds from the grant.  We will have optional activities for families centered around the novel.

If your family would not like to receive a copy of Just Mercy (Adapted for Young Adult Readers) by Brian Stevenson or if your family needs additional copies because your child splits their time between multiple households please visit https://forms.gle/KKJGrbyjdq9u2dFa8 by Friday, March 12th.

Remote learning students will have the option to participate as well.  Teachers monitoring remote learning will reach out to their specific students with more information.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
