Congratulations to Ms. Cindy Dorsey, math teacher at CNE Middle School, who has been named the Ohio Middle Level Association’s Educator of the Year. This award is the most distinguished honor the Ohio Middle Level Association (OMLA) can bestow upon an individual to recognize the contributions made to middle level education. Ms. Dorsey was honored at the OMLA annual state conference on October 28-29.
“She is warm, caring, and passionate about her kids, as well as her content,” says Middle School Principal Laura Nazzarine. “Kids feel they they can come to her not only for help in math, but in life. She stays in and meets with kids during her planning bell and lunch. She is a good listener and helps them set goals for their own personal best.”
Ms. Dorsey completed her undergraduate at Northern Kentucky University and then earned her master’s at the University of Cincinnati. Since receiving her master’s degree, Ms. Dorsey has spent her entire educational career at CNE schools: a full twenty-five years of service.
On top of teaching math and doling out life advice, Ms. Dorsey is also the Middle School Track and Field Coach, and previously taught the High School Volleyball Team for ten years.
