Report Card Transition

Beginning Fall of 2022, CNE Elementary will transition from a traditional report card to a Standards-Based report card for grades K-2. This decision was made by the Building Leadership team based on valuable teacher feedback. This new report card will allow for our parents/guardians to have full transparency as they look at how their student is doing in classes; this transition will also provide easy highlights of the areas a student has strengths in and areas that may need growth.

“This new report card will allow students to have conversations with their families and teachers around these areas,” explains Ms. Keough, 1st Grade Teacher and facilitator of the report card transition. “Teachers will be able to pinpoint more easily the standards that each child needs more instruction or reteaching while also highlighting areas for enrichment or challenge. Additionally, families and teachers can now have more productive conversations around our adopted standards.”

Currently, the report card system varies from grade to grade within K-2. This change across the three grades will offer consistency between all, and will align these grades to the district-adopted Ohio Learning Standards. Rather than seeing letter grades (A-F), guardians will see an indicator of 1, 2, or 3, which will show mastery or proficiency towards each given standard.
